I had my first beginner Spanish class tonight. Talk about anxiety levels getting pushed to the maximum. Nothing like having to say ‘what is your name’ in a foreign language in front of a class to make your mind go blank and turn you into a blathering idiot. Well… not that bad. It was actually really good. The lady teacher speaks Spanish as her first language and she has been teaching English and Spanish for many years. She taught in a way that it didn’t matter about the technical concepts but rather the context of the language. For homework I have to be able to spell my name out loud in Spanish. I have trouble with that in English! :)
